Lasercutting - The most romantic invitation in town!

If you're searching for a something truly exceptional then a laser cut invitation is a must.

A wonderfully intricate design with your initials delicately entwined amongst the gorgeous filigree pattern. Choose from our Fleurette or Fairytale designs - or commission something that's personal to you.

If you're stuck for inspiration think about the time of year you are marrying - if it's winter then Mistletoe and snowflakes make a beautiful pattern, or ask us to incorporate your flower choice in the design.

Take inspiration from our Scottish and English couple who commissioned the most romantic lasercut design, an English Rose with one initial, and a Scottish Thistle with another, they folded together to create one pattern and their initials merged to form a beautiful monogram!

Money please! - Address tricky issues with information cards

With many couples these days living together before they marry, contributions towards your honeymoon or appliances for your new home can be preferable to a gift list.

It's not unusual to ask for money or vouchers and as long as it's done tactfully and politely then it shouldn't offend.

Information cards are a growing trend, and in addition to providing your guests with additional information about your wedding such as, travel, transport and accommodation, they're also the perfect way to address those tricky issues.

A carefully worded note on your information cards along the lines of:

Please don't feel obliged to buy us a gift but if you would like to buy us something (name of shop) vouchers or contributions towards our honeymoon would be gratefully received.

You can also address the topic of children on an information card and let your guests know if you are inviting them or if you are unable to accommodate them.

Visit our wording examples and advice pages for more examples of how to word information cards and the rest of your stationery.

Purples, Chocolates and Tennis Greens - some of the latest colour combinations!

We love colour at Chartula and are simply thrilled when a couple ask us for a combination we haven't tried before! Try and tie your stationery in with your colour theme, and in case you're stuck for ideas why not try one of these gorgeous combinations:

Purples
So rich, so regal, so sophisticated. For a winter wedding try our Regal Silk card. It's a gorgeous bluey purple and looks divine with Blackberry Sorbet ink. If you're wedding's in the summer then Violet and Pistachio are fabulous, or for spring try Lavender and Cream and ask us for deep purple ribbon for a luxurious touch!

Dark Chocolate and Candy Pink
Brown and Pink, a simply delicious combination, go for a really dark chocolate brown and soft pink for a truly scrumptious colour theme. A chocolate cake is the perfect accompaniment!

Tennis Green
We're in love with our exotic new colour combination of Wimbledon Green and Candy Pink! Perfect if you're wedding's abroad and it looks fab with our Orchid design. If Wimbledon Green's too much for you then go for a Pistachio green, it looks beautiful with Candy Pink ink. For a delicate look try our pretty Bouvardia design.

Remember, for a really striking effect, choose a dark card with a lighter ink colour, and for a softer look, a light card with a darker ink.

No table plan? Cute little escort cards are simply divine

A modern alternative to a table plan and great if you won't know your seating arrangements until the last minute. You (or your bridesmaid!) simply write your guests names on the front and their table name or number inside.

You can have fun with escort cards by hanging them in a tree for your guests to find, or as they're usually tent folded, pegging them over a length of ribbon. Or you can make a pretty display by arranging them on a table in rows separated by flowers.

Be organised and have fun - Quiz your guests with reply cards!

Reply cards are the perfect tool for organizing your wedding. Choose postcard style reply cards with your return address, and a space for a stamp, so it's easy for guests to reply. Include a please reply by date, and ask your guests to tell you of any special dietary requirements.

You can also have fun with your replies. Include questions like:

This is our all time favourite party tune and we would definitely get up and dance if you played it!

Or give your guests a giggle with phrases like:

You have left it far too late to send the invitations out, we have a brilliant social life and are all booked up!

So much to do, so little time - Delegate!

With so much to organise it's no wonder many brides get stressed out. If you're struggling and you aren't hiring any professional help then take a step back, make a list of what you have left to do, and delegate to friends, bridesmaids, and family.

Assign each bridesmaid a job. Ask a friend with neat handwriting to write names on your place cards. Ask your parents to receive and collate all your replies and chase any that haven't been received. And remember your fiancé is there to help too, he may not always be very interested in choosing flowers, but most men will do a great job if you let them try - we've had many who are great at choosing and organizing the stationery and really enjoy being involved.

This hot new trend is all about tiny little menus that slip inside your napkins keeping your table neat and giving your place settings an elegant touch.

Remember to order one per guest, and add a small blossom of flowers for a pretty look.

Vintage artwork - The perfect look for an Art Deco wedding

For the ultimate in Riviera glamour, Italian romance, or Art Deco elegance! If you're after a look that will really get your guests in the mood, incorporating some stunning vintage artwork into your stationery is the perfect way to set the tone for your wedding.

If your wedding is abroad go for a vintage travel poster. There are some fabulous designs out there, plenty for the popular hotspots, especially the French and Italian Riviera.

You can also find some great UK inspired designs, especially if you're venue has a bit of history, or is in a popular town or city.

If you're not too concerned about showing off your venue then go for a romantic Art Deco style image of a couple picnicking, a ball, or even a wedding.

For inspiration see the works of artists like, Georges Barbier, Bruno Chomel, Rodger Broders and Jean-Gabriel Domergue.

When you have found something you like contact us and we'll see if we can license it for use on your stationery. Alternatively if you're not sure what to go for, or need some advice just let us know and we'll be happy to guide you.

Black and Cream - Classic, elegant, and modern

We're loving black and cream at Chartula right now. It's so versatile, so elegant, so sophisticated, and used in the right way, so modern.

Ask us to re-invent a traditional black and cream invitation by adding a dazzling silver foil monogram, or go for a really striking effect with a velvety smooth black card and thick cream ink - simply divine!

Choose a creamy cream rather than a white to take the edge off the black, and for finishing touches think luxury and glamour - silky black satin or, rich velvet ribbon. To add an extra dimension use silver ink - either a shiney foil, shimmery silk screen, or for the ultimate luxury, sumptuous raised engraving.
